Justin Hines & opening talent Ash & Bloom put on an inspirational & well attended musical show at the Prestige Harbourfront resort on Wednesday, September 4th, at 7pm, with proceeds going to benefit SACL.

The attendees were very impressed with the great musical talent, harmonization, inspirational lyrics and the wonderful sense of humor displayed by all 3 musicians. A lovely evening was had by all!
After 2 standing ovations, Justin and his counterparts were allowed off the stage where the band members took the time to meet and greet all the folks that came to support both SACL and the Vehicle of Change tour.
Thanks to all who came out to show their support!

AGM2013-BOD

On June 18th 2013, SACL will hold it’s Annual General Meeting for Members. It is a very exciting year for SACL, a year of respectfully reflecting on days gone by, and embarking on an exciting new adventure while celebrating our 50th year of services to the community!

To help celebrate our 50th Anniversary, a new SACL website will be introduced at the AGM.
The website has been designed to be comprehensive, colourful, fun, informative and user friendly.
Our hope is to have this website be the major form of communication and information to Persons Supported, Families & Caregivers, Employers, Stakeholders, and Community Members alike. The goal is to increase awareness of our services, promote the abilities of our Persons Supported, and to put the spotlight on Employers, Community Members, and Persons Supported who help accomplish our directive of ‘Inclusion for All People’.

On June 1st, 2013, SACL celebrated 50 years of service to our community by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new downtown location at 371 Hudson Avenue NE.
Cake and refreshments were enjoyed by a full-house of community members, staff, board members, persons supported, their families and caregivers.

An unexpected pleasure took place when Maria McCallum stood and introduced herself to the group as the founding member of SACL in 1963. Maria stated how proud she was to be standing here 50 years later, and to see how far we have come in providing services and overcoming obstacles for persons with intellectual disabilities. It was a great honour and a pleasant surprise to have Maria attend and speak at the event.

SACL Services are moved and settled in to the new location.

Many thanks to all the Persons Supported, their families and caregivers, staff and the community for their support and patience during the transition!
We look forward to providing another 50 years of quality service to the people of our community!
