SACL strives to provide continued education and advocacy to create an inclusive and accepting community for all! Our Community Services and Supports consist of the following;
One-to-One Community Supports
(Personal Enrichment Program – PEP)
Individualized planning and collaboration between the Persons Supported and Staff that explores and works towards the realization of the personal interests and goals of each individual within the community. Focus is directed towards providing opportunities to develop social networks and natural supports within the community.
Community Connector Network
The Community Connector Network assists individuals to develop social support networks in their community. SACL’s Community Inclusion Worker collaborates with the Person Supported to determine their interests, lifestyle, safety and support needs to develop a plan to increase community involvement. The Community Inclusion Worker directly assists the individual throughout the process to ensure they experience a successful, healthy, safe and satisfying inclusive lifestyle.
Health, Wellness & Life Skills Services
Persons Supported help plan a schedule of meaningful activities than may include taking part in activities at the program site, in Salmon Arm, or in the surrounding communities. Activities are encouraged towards goals of inclusion, healthy living, cultural awareness and diversity, and learning building life skills.
